Hardware Questions and Answers - How to Configure an Apple Aluminum Keyboard on a PC

Craig writes in with a hardware question
Q. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate on my iMac 24" and just bought the new Apple aluminum keyboard and the volume control keys and eject key don't work. Can you tell me where to find a software fix for this problem please?

A. If you are trying to use a Mac keyboard with Windows then you may not be able to use all of the features. Many keyboards with extended functions come with software which allows you to configure the keyboard buttons. Many Microsoft keyboards don't need the software since they are designed to be used with Windows. If Apple doesn't provide any software to configure the keyboard then you may not be able to use all of its features. Here is a link I found that supposedly provides drivers for the Aluminum keyboard. We have not tested this link so use it at your own risk.

Here is a link on how to map your keyboard in Windows XP which may apply to Vista.
