The SMBus controller is the System Management Bus controller and is part of the Intel chipset on the motherboard. You may notice that you have a yellow exclamation point on your SMBus Controller in Device Manager. That’s most likely because you need to install the Intel INF update utility to update the motherboard Intel chipset drivers.
Click here to go to the Intel page to download the latest Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility. You should also have the required software on your motherboard CD if you have it.
Be sure to create a manual System Restore Point before installing this software just in case something goes wrong.
