Q. What is networking bridge?
A. A network bridge is a device or software that connects multiple network segments. A bridge examines each packet on the network and passes those known to be within the same network to their destination, and forwards those known to be on another separate yet connected network to that network. It is device similar to a router, but it does not analyze or route the data being forwarded.
Windows XP can be configured as a software bridge.
