Every computer user at some point or another will get an error message when opening a program. Hopefully the error message will explain what the problem is so you can try and fix the issue. Other times the error message won't make any sense and you will have to do some research to figure out the cause of the error. Microsoft Office is no stranger to errors and you can expect to get some from time to time.
When opening a Microsoft Office program or file you may get a message that says "Office Application Version Does Not Match Error". This is most likely caused by having the Outlook 2007 Business Contact Manager installed on your computer. Many computers that come with the Office trial program installed will have this on their computer from when it was new.
There are a couple of ways to get rid of this error. First you can install the update from Microsoft that gets rid of the error.
Or you can go into Add and Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista) and uninstall the Outlook 2007 Business Contact Manager if you don't use it. It won't affect any of your Office programs. You may get a message during the uninstall process that it can't remove it from your Outlook profile but just click Ok and finish the uninstall.
