Internal Error 2336 or 2755 When Installing Office 2000 - Microsoft Office Help Tips

Errors are a part of life when it comes to installing software or doing anything on computers. Many times these error messages are not clear as to what the cause of the problem may be. Microsoft is pretty good at putting explanations with their error messages but there will be some cases when they don't make any sense at all to the average user or even the advanced user.

If you are installing Office 2000 and setup stops responding and you receive an"Internal error 2336"or an"Internal error 2755" error message when you install Office 2000 there is a method you can try to see if you can get past the error and sucessfully install Office on your computer.

This will most likely happen on a computer running Windows NT, 2000 or XP on an NTFS formatted drive because of permission errors. The WinNT or Windows folder may not have the correct access permissions for the installation and may not be able to create the installer folder.

To fix this problem make sure the WinNT or Windows folder has Read permissions for Everyone and Administrators have Full Control. To check this, right click the Windows folder and then choose Properties or Security and check the permissions on the Security tab.
