Computer Tries to Boot to CDROM Instead of Hard Drive

Arifhusen writes in with a hardware question

Question: Please tell me about the master slave combination if there are two hard disks in computer. I want to boot it with the first hard disk, and it wants the CD ROM to be the first boot device, please help.

Answer: Even if you have your jumper settings correct if the boot order in the BIOS is set to boot from CDROM first then it will choose that. Go into your BIOS and look for the boot order settings and set it to boot to your hard drive first device rather than your CDROM. How to find this setting will vary but it should be pretty easy to find.
