DVD burner not recognized - PC Hardware Questions & Answers

Question: I recently installed a dvd burner, but for some reason I cant make it work as a dvd burner, it just shows up as a cd drive. Im pretty sure Ive installed all the software for it. any suggestions?

Answer: You may first want to check if your drive has CD burning enabled. Are you burning using Windows XPs built in burning capabilities or other third party software?
