PC Troubleshooting Questions and Answers - No Sound From Websites

Grace writes in with a troubleshooting question

Question:
I have sound when playing discs (music or games), but I don't have any sound when I'm in websites. What could be the reason for this and how do I fix it?

Answer: I would start by checking your options in Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools and then Internet Options. From there click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Multimedia section. Make sure that Play sounds in web pages is checked. Then close and reopen your browser. If that doesn't work then you can try this registry fix. Click on this link and then click on Run and yes when it asks you if you want to import the information into the registry.
