PC Troubleshooting Questions and Answers - Trouble With Online Games

William writes in with a troubleshooting question
Q
. I would like to know what could be the cause of when I play a game online or go to a site like McDonalds play monopoly online. When the site comes up, one section of the pictures site only flashes on, and then goes away, same with the games. One picture does not stay on to see. I tried Java and a windows update. Could it be the video card?

Answer: Depending on what the site uses for the programming for its games you may just need to update your browser. Lots of sites use Flash for their multimedia effects and it looks like the McDonalds site does as well. I would make sure you have the latest Flash plugin installed in your browser. Go here and download and install the Flash plugin. Be sure to uncheck the Yahoo Toolbar if you don't want that installed.

You can also try another web browser as a test such as Firefox.
