PC Troubleshooting Questions and Answers - Outlook Express Error Code Ox800CCC79

Etta writes in with a troubleshooting question

Question:
I am having trouble with Outlook Express when I send an email. The recipient is not receiving it. I get an error code that says Ox800CCC79.

Answer: Are you getting any other messages with this particular error code? For example is it just with a particular email address that you get this code? Do you see anything like a 550 error? It may be a case of your email server rejecting the address you are sending to.
You should also double check your server settings in Outlook Express. Something may have changed on your ISPs end where they changed the outgoing server information. Also make sure to check if your email server requires authentication and enter the correct information in the Outlook settings.

Also check the spelling of your email address in your account properties under tools, accounts and properties.

If nothing seems to work you may have to call your ISP and have them verify your Outlook settings to see if anything is incorrect.
