PC Troubleshooting Questions and Answers - WMS Idle Error Message

Vinayak writes in with a troubleshooting question

Question:
My computer is not shutting down clean. It’s saying WMS idle.

Answer: This is commonly caused by the Nero CD burning software. Sometimes you can try to disable nmbgmonitor from your startup items using msconfig.

If that doesn't work then you should try to disable Nero Scout which is an indexing tool used to find all your audio, video and picture files to use with Nero. Here is how you do it.

Click Start, Programs and then Nero.

Go to Tools and then Nero Scout.

On the left hand column, click Indexing then Folders.
At the bottom click Clear All and click Apply.
At the top left hand corner of the window uncheck the box where it says Enable Nero Scout.
Then click Apply and Ok.
