Software Questions and Answers - How to Transfer Video to DVD

Mike writes in with a software question

Question:
How do you transfer video from a hard drive to DVD?

Answer: If you want to transfer your video from your hard drive to a DVD in a format that you can watch on your home DVD player then you will need some additional software to do the conversion. There are professional applications such as Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro but they tend to be very expensive and may be more than you need.

A couple of much more inexpensive programs that work very well are Nero Express and My DVD which comes with Roxio Easy Media Creator. They allow you to convert your movie files such as AVIs to DVD format and burn them on the spot. You can also create custom menus as well.
