John writes in with a software question
Q. I am trying to send an email flyer (1 page) it is a flyer I have made and saved, it's a Microsoft Word document. When the recipient opens the email I want the flyer to be right there already open on the screen and they don't have to click "attachments" to open it.
A. Email clients can only usually display emails in plain text or HTML. Plain text will be only the words with no graphics and HTML can display the words with their formatting such as colors and bold characters etc as well as images. You won’t be able to have a Word document show up in the body of an email since it’s not considered plain text or HTML.
You can try and save your Word file as an HTML file and then insert it into the email as HTML and have it displayed that way assuming your client will let you do that type of thing. If you have images in the document then it may not work since Word doesn't like to embed the images into the document and instead puts them in a separate folder when you save the file as HTML. If you don't have any images then that should work just fine.
If you have images then you can try and find some software that will let you print or save to an image file such as a jpeg and then place that image in the body of the email. You will have to use HTML format to do so.
