Software Questions and Answers - How to Check Time and Date of Website Visits

Ken writes in with a software question
Question:Someone has visited porn sites on my pc, I would like to see the date and time of when this was done. Please help as I have young kids. Thanks

Answer: You can look at your history in Internet Explorer to determine what sites were visited on what day. Click on the Favorites button on the top left of the browser and then click on the History tab. This will show what has been looked at and when. It wont show you the time though and if its older than today it will sort them by week. If you want to get more detail then you will have to browse your computer to where the history folder resides. If you don't have your computer set to show hidden files then you will have to check that in Folder Options.

After you enable hidden folders and files to be shown go to C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\History where username is the name you log into your computer with or the name of the user you want to check if different. From there click find the website you want to check. Double click the site you want and on it will show you when it was last visited. Make sure to have the details view showing so it will show the date and time.
