How to Put Movies on an iPod

Jacob writes in with a software question
Question: How do I put a movie (not from iTunes) on my iPod?

Answer: I believe your movie file will have to be in the MPEG-4 format for your iPod to recognize it. Many MP3 players will let you browse it via Windows Explorer when you connect them. For the iPod you will have to open iTunes and right click your iPod icon, and then set it to disk mode to be able to use it as an external drive. So it looks like you will have to use iTunes after all. Here are some more details on the procedure.
