Trend Micro eMail ID is a web browser plugin that helps you identify legitimate email messages that you receive in your email. It uses a 2 step process to verify the authenticity of messages from hundreds of major companies, and then displays the result so that you'll know what's real. These companies are primarily retail and financial providers who publish authentication data and work with vendors to help consumers identify and confirm email senders. This helps you avoid opening and acting on phishing messages attempting to spoof real companies.
Trend Micro eMail ID helps you avoid fake messages and risks associated with them. It also helps you find legitimate messages quickly so you know which are safe to open. It operates directly in your email client which in turn helps you have a safer and more productive online experience. Trend Micro eMail ID confirms the source of email messages using industry standard authentication technologies such as Sender ID and DomainKeys. After they get a positive result from these authentication checks, they check that result against a list of identified senders. This process is required to make sure they aren't adding a Truemark icon to a spoofed message.
TrendMicro eMail ID adds Truemark icons to your email inbox and open messages to indicate legitimate messages from hundreds of major companies. It operates pretty much the same with all webmail clients and Outlook Express. That way you don't have to learn a different interface as you check your email with different clients. If you move your mouse over a Truemark icon, a certificate appears, showing you the results of the authentication and identity checks, and giving you more detail about the sender of the message.
