Ewido Anti-Spyware Online Scanner (Soon to be AVG Anti-Spyware) - Spyware Help

Ewido offers a free online spyware scanner that you can use to check your computer for spyware infections and clean anything that it finds. Go to the Ewido website by clicking here. You will be prompted to install a browser component into Internet Explorer so click Ok when it asks.

If you don’t use IE or don’t want to install the plug-in then you can use the downloadable version (Ewido Anti-Spyware Micro Scanner) which is a minimal version of Ewido anti-spyware.

First the program will download the current signature database so you will get the best possible results with your scan.

Next you will be asked which drives on your computer you wish to scan. It won’t hurt to scan all of them.

Then it will scan your computer for known spyware items and show the progress as it scans.

When the scan is complete simply click on Remove Infections to have whatever was found removed from your system.

Ewido anti-spyware 4.0 will continue under the new product name AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5. It will contain the same ewido technology, but with some further enhanced features. So if you don’t see it under Ewido then you may want to search for AVG Anti-Spyware. They also offer a more full featured version of the software that you can download and install. There is a free trial for 30 days and then after that it will still work but some of the features will be limited unless you buy it.
