Malwarebytes' Anti Malware - Spyware Help

Malwarebytes' is another free utility to add to your anti spyware arsenal to help rid your computer of spyware/malware. It's always good to run multiple programs since some programs will find spyware items that others won't.

Once you download and install Malwarebytes' you should check for updates since to make sure the program has the latest database information. Click on the Update tab and then click on Check for Updates and it will do the rest on its own.

When its finished, click on the Scanner tab to begin scanning your computer. For most cases you can do a quick scan which will check for the most common types of malware.

You can watch the scanning process and see what is being scanned and if anything has been found during the scan.

When its finished scanning,g it will show you the results of the scan. This will include the type of spyware/malware and where it was found.

Next you will click on the Remove Selected button with all the items checked in the window. Malwarebytes’ will remove the items and show a log file of the results which you can just close. It may tell you that you need to reboot your computer to finish the removal process. Just make sure you save anything you are working on before doing so.

Malwarebytes' also includes a free tool called FileASSASSIN which will remove files that you normally could not delete because they are in use by Windows. This comes in handy when you are trying to manually delete a file related to a virus or spyware that is currently in use.
