Cheryl writes in with a spyware question
Q. I keep getting popups that says I need to go to www.registrycleaner.com to download and fix the problems and when I do they want money to fix these problems. Also I am listening to a station from Barbados and it keeps cutting out and buffering can I fix that. Thanks Cheryl.
A. The Registry Cleaner popup is just a trick to get you to buy their software. They say you have problems and try to scare you into buying the software. The software most likely would make your computer worse if you installed it. Since you are getting popups you should do some spyware scans and see if they find any infections.
For your radio station when it says its buffering that usually means there is a slow connection to the site. If you have DSL or Cable you should be fine on your end and its most likely the speed of their connection or the way they stream their audio. If you have dial-up then that may not be fast enough to stream audio over the internet. If you have a severe enough spyware infection that could be playing a part in the performance of your internet connection as well.
