Virus Questions and Answers - Is it Ok to Have More Than One Antivirus Program On Your Computer?
Jim writes in with a virus question
Question:I have Avast anti-virus Software and SuperAntiSpyware Professional software installed in my computer. My question is, Do I need both of them or is it a waste of space to have them both installed? Do they work well together? Thanks.
Answer: It wont hurt to have more than one antirus/anti-spyware program on your computer. Many programs will detect items that others wont, especially when it comes to spyware infections. You usually only need one antivirus program but having more than one anti-spyware program is always a good idea. These programs don't take up much space and if you have a newer computer it shouldn't be an issue at all. Some of the more popular and effective anti-spyware programs are Malwarebytes and Spybot.
