Femi writes in with a virus question
Q. Please help me with how I can remove the W32/Hakaglan.inf virus.
A. The W32/Hakaglan.inf virus should be able to be cleaned out using your antivirus software since most products know of this virus. I would make sure your antivirus software is up to date and do a thorough scan in Safe Mode. You may want to turn off System Restore first and then turn it back on after you remove it.
Steps to turn off System Restore
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the System Restore tab.
3. Click to select the Turn off System Restore check box. Or, click to select the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box.
4. Click OK.
5. When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm that you want to turn off System Restore:
You have chosen to turn off System Restore. If you continue, all existing restore points will be deleted, and you will not be able to track or undo changes to your computer.

If your antivirus program doesnt find it you can try some other programs or online scans. Since you know that you have the virus makes me think that your antivirus program knows about it and should be able to remove it.
Here are some other resources to help you get rid of the virus.
You can download the beta (test) version of the latest Norton Antivirus 2008.
You can run the free Microsoft PC Safety Scan and see if it finds it.
You can run the free Kaspersky online virus scanner as well as some other free scanners such as the McAfee scanner.
You can download the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition software which gets pretty good reviews.
