Windows Questions and Answers - Page Cannot Be Displayed Error on Secured Web Page

Billy writes in with a Windows question:
Q. Whenever entering the secured page of a website, my computer displays a white screen and says "page cannot be displayed" and asks to refresh and update settings.  What setting may need to be modified?  I have already lowered the security settings for browsing.

A. You should check to make sure your SSL settings have the right options checked. Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools, then Internet Options, and click the Advanced tab. Scroll down to the section labeled Security and make sure that the boxes next to Use SSL 2.0 and Use TLS 1.0 are checked. Then click Ok and restart Internet Explorer.

Also make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer. Go to Help and then About Internet Explorer and make sure it says 6.0 or higher.

You can also try it in another web browser such as Firefox.
