Windows Questions and Answers - How to Make a Windows Login Password

Ernie writes in with a Windows question.
Q. How do I make my PC have a password to log on so my grandkids can not get on it when we go to bed?

A. If you click on Start and then Control Panel (or Start, Settings, Control Panel) you will see an icon for User Accounts. Double click that and you will open the User Accounts applet. From there you can click on the user account you want to make a password for. Next you will click on the link to add or change your password depending on how your computer is setup and add a password. Then from now on every time you start your computer or log on after being logged of it will prompt you for a password. If you want to leave your computer on and still have it password protected you can click on Start and then Log Off to leave your computer running but still be password protected. You should make a password reset disk in case you forget your password and cant get into your computer.
