Degen writes in with a Windows question
Q. I cannot install Windows updates on my Windows ME computer. I tried installing them at the site and it told me I was not running a windows operating system and tried to re-direct me to a Macintosh site
A. This has been a problem that has surfaced lately for Windows ME users. Microsoft is aware of the problem and should be working on fixing it. Its not an issue with your computer but with the Windows Update site. Here are a couple of things you can try in the meantime.
Try deleting your temporary internet files and cookies From Internet Explorer and then try accessing the Windows Update site using
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp instead of the Windows Update link in the start Menu.
You can also delete the files in your C:\Temp and C:\Windows\Temp folder. Or you can download and install CCleaner which will remove much more temporary stuff from your computer.
