Charin writes in with a Windows question
Q. My brother has given me guest account to access but I can't install games. When I try to install anything I get an error message saying "you don’t have sufficient rights" what can I do to get the administrator password? Can please guide me?
A. If you only have certain rights to the computer then you will only be able to do certain things such as install software and make certain changes. It will depend on what version of XP you are using as to what types of things you can do on the computer.
Windows XP Professional has many different user account types and allows you to make custom account types as well. Windows XP Home has only Administrator and Limited account types. The Administrator account has full control over everything on the computer. The Limited account can use the computer, but is very restricted in its ability to install software or alter system configurations.
To get around your problem you will have to have your brother change your account type or use his account to install your games.
