Q. All desktop shortcut icons had their own pics when created but now anything that runs on Internet Explorer has the IE icon pic. Sometimes it will go back but then when the computer is restarted it will revert back to IE pics on the desktop shortcuts again.
A. This is an unusual problem you are having but we have a couple of suggestions you can try. The first is to install TweakUI from Microsoft because it has an option to rebuild your icons. Download and install the program. Then open the program and at the bottom of the list there is a repair section. Click on that and then make sure Repair Icons is selected and then click Repair Now. You can also try to run the Windows System File Checker to have it go through your system files and repair anything that needs fixing.
