Windows Questions and Answers - How to Increase the My Pictures View as Slideshow Duration

Tiffany writes in with a Windows question
Q.
I have scanned pictures into a folder on My Documents and wanted to view them as a slideshow. When I click "View as Slideshow", the pictures start, and it works. However, I want the pictures to be shown for a longer amount of time. How can I do this? Thanks

Answer: The easiest way to adjust the Windows XP built in slideshow slide duration is to download and install TweakUI from Microsoft. This is a free program that allows you to fine tune many Windows settings. Once you install it simply open the program and go to the Explorer section. Then find the Slide Show sub section and there will be a setting called Time per picture (ms:). The default setting is 5000 ms or 5 seconds. Just increase this number to how many seconds you want and click on Apply and then Ok and you should be all set.
