Lisa writes in with the following Windows question.
Q. What is registry and how does it work?
A. The registry is a database which stores settings and options for the operating system. It contains information and settings for all the hardware, software, users, and preferences of the computer. The registry is the area where Windows continually references to get information during operation. You can edit the registry by using Registry Editor and adjust and customize system settings. This can be very dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing because once you make a change, it’s done. You should always backup the registry before making any changes.
